How We Help

Since 1973, The Mariam C. Schramm Clothing Room has been the League’s primary service program, providing new clothing for economically disadvantaged students in Cabarrus County Schools and Kannapolis City Schools. To date for the 2009-2010 Clothing Room year, the League has provided warm clothing -- including winter coats, shoes and toiletries -- to more than 1,450 students.

Other service programs include Safety Town, held annually in August for rising kindergarten students; the Student Eye Health Program, assisting with eye exams and eyeglasses for students; Goodtimers, playing bingo with residents of local nursing homes and assisted living centers; babysitting at CVAN domestic violence shelter; and Kids Helping Kids, giving students the opportunity to volunteer in the local community by assisting with League projects.
