Some of Our Additional Programs

Goodtimers: This League activity involves visiting area nursing homes on a rotating basis to play bingo with the residents. The residents win quarters and have a wonderful time - some of the games get quite lively!

CVAN: League members babysit for the women who are in the battered women's shelter every Sunday evening. We provide drinks and snacks for their children.

The Student Eye Health Program: The League provides financial assistance to children in Cabarrus County and Kannapolis City Schools who are in need of eye exams and/or eye glasses. School nurses contact the League office about children who need eye exams/prescription eyeglasses whose families do not have the means to obtain them. We partner with Cabarrus Eye Center to provide the service for the children.

Kids Helping Kids: This program enables students from local schools to volunteer in our community by assisting with League programs and projects. In the past local students have organized toiletry drives, clothing drives, and coin drives. We encourage students to develop new ideas for projects.
