Clothes from the Heart

Once a year the League send out our "Clothes from the Heart" campaign. We ask our friends to donate money to clothe a child in need. It is our one time that we ask for support and the proceeds directly go to the Mariam Schramm clothing room to purchase new clothing.

Safety Town

A cherished Concord tradition which began in 1967. Safety Town provides Cabarrus County’s rising kindergarten students age-appropriate safety rule experiences in a fun and unique format. Police officers, firefighters and volunteers from the Red Cross teach about bus safety, gun & fire safety, (just to name a few). During the free half-day camp, League volunteers supervise the students as they rotate through each class.

The Mariam C. Schramm

Clothing Room

Open Mid Septmeber - January for each school in Cabarrus County & Kannapolis City Schools to schedule a visit. Counselors and social workers choose their neediest students to come pick out new clothes. Our volunteers are on hand to help the students choose appropriate sizes and watch the smiles in person!

Student Eyeglass Program

Each year the JCL partners with the Cabarrus Health Alliance to provide eye exams and glasses when necessary to students in Cabarrus County.  Each year this program assists approximately 50 children that might go without being able to see clearly. We are happy to assist with the help of school nurses who reccomend the students to the CHA.
