The Mariam C. Schramm Clothing Room
The Mariam C. Schramm Clothing Room serves over 1,000 economically disadvantaged children in Cabarrus County and Kannapolis City Schools. During visits coordinated by school social workers and guidance counselors, volunteers are on hand to help students choose brand new clothes! Including a new pair of sneakers and a winter coat! They distribute these items including full size toiletries, and watch the smiles happen in person. Every school is CCS & KCS has an opportunity to bring students to the Clothing Room! It is a field trip they will not forget and an equally memorable moment for volunteers!
The JCL Easter Egg Fundraiser
The Junior Charity League of Concord is proud of this tradition that is still going strong since 1991. Members of the leauge hand paint over 900 wood Easter Eggs every year as a fundraiser. Eggs can be personalized and are dated with the year. They are available to order each year usually starting in February but is dependant on the date of Easter. Eggs can be picked up, or for a fee can be delivered to your home or office within Cabarrus County or even mailed out of the area! It is a fun Easter tradition.

Community Service Projects
Safety Town
Safety Town is a cherished Concord tradition that provides rising kindergarteners with age-appropriate safety rule experiences in a fun and unique format. Police officers, firefighters, and volunteers from the Red Cross teach bus, gun, and fire safety, just to name a few. During this free half-day camp, League volunteers supervise the students as they rotate through each class.
Clothes from the Heart
Clothes from the Heart is the League’s annual campaign to collect funds for the Mariam C. Schramm Clothing Room. League members mail information to family and friends, asking for donations that will help clothe a child in need. Proceeds allow the League to purchase more clothing for the Clothing Room.
Student Eyeglass Program
Each year, the League partners with the Cabarrus Eye Center and school nurses to provide eye exams and glasses to students in Cabarrus County. This program assists children and families who might otherwise go without a proper eye exam and fitting for eyeware.
